HWF implements a wide array of health and nutrition projects, providing basic and supplementary medical services for populations in dire need. It establishes and runs medical care centres and mobile medical vans, taking healthcare to inaccessible and rural areas.

Mobile Medical Van

Through this program, HWF organizes mobile medical camps in slums and slum-like places. We are running two mobile medical vans, in Delhi (jointly operated by HWF, Al Shifa Hospital and Aster DM Foundation, Kerala) and Jamshedpur, Jharkhand. Medical Camps & Workshop

HWF organizes regular medical camps and workshops across the country. Four medical camps were organized in Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, and Jharkhand benefitting 967 people. Three health workshops on first aid were conducted in Jabalpur (MP), Ranchi (Jharkhand), and Roorkee (Uttarakhand) where 102 people from different districts of the states participated. One workshop on Drug Abuse Prevention was also organized in Shikrawa, Haryana with 110 participants.

Blood Donation Camps

HWF conducts Blood Donation Camps at different locations and medical centres frequently. It also conducts programmes to raise global awareness on the need for safe blood and blood products for transfusion. The blood donation camps draw huge response. Recently, a camp was organized by HWF in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh in association with Victoria Hospital, Jabalpur, and the Indian Red Cross Society.

Vaccination Program

HWF organizes weekly vaccination programmes in association with Al Shifa Multispecialty Hospital. It also conducts such programmes in rural and inaccessible areas through Medical Mobile Van and Medical Centres setup in different parts of the country for the benefit of the poor and needy.

Medical Aid to Poor Patients

We provide financial assistance to poor patients who are unable to afford their healthcare expenses. Since 2009, the HWF has organized 523 free medical camps and has been able to provide clinical services and free medication to patients suffering from various ailments resulting from poor access to healthcare, unhealthy life style, lack of awareness on health and hygiene and non-availability of proper water and sanitation.In 2021, HWF provided assistance to 96 poor patients.

COVID-19 Relief

The major focus of HWF during the Covid-19 pandemic lied on providing hospital facilities when the whole country was reeling under the shortage of hospital and ICU beds, oxygen, and ventilators. The existing multispecialty hospital in Delhi was upgraded and a 40-bedded Covid Field Hospital setup. One Oxygen generating plant was also set up and the mobile medical vans and medical centres provided round-the-clock service to fight Covid-19. Oxygen cylinders, concentrators, and ventilators were also made available in different parts of the country. The Covid Handholding Project, one of its kind initiatives, was launched to provide livelihood support to thousands who lost their livelihood due to Covid.

Ambulance Services

HWF offers mobile OPD and ambulance services in some areas through its Mobile Medical Units & Ambulances. The services were extended to new places during Covid-19 pandemic. In 2022, HWF donated one mobile ICU to Al-Shifa Hospital, New Delhi and three ambulances to West Bengal Welfare Trust, Kolkata, Khidmat Welfare Trust, Lucknow and Al Falah Hospital, Azamgarh.
