India is home to the largest homeless population in the world. Millions of poor who cannot afford to buy a roof over their head end up on the footpaths and flyovers of flourishing metros of the country. HWF provides financial aid to homeless people living in the least developed villages in various North Indian states. Victims of natural calamities are given priority under the housing aid project.

62 low-cost housing projects were executed in 2020 in the states of West Bengal, Jharkhand, Haryana, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Assam, Delhi, Bihar, and Kerala.
